Clubhouse accidentally leaks a private messaging feature

Clubhouse might have just leaked their upcoming private messaging feature called Backchannel. The live audio app has been widely known for its live audio conversations around multiple topics that include politics, cryptocurrency, beauty, and fitness.

Many Clubhouse users took to Twitter to share the Backchannel feature in the Clubhouse app which is still under development:

The feature, if released, would help Clubhouse users communicate with each other through another mode of communication – text. This feature would help moderators in a room to side by side converse with other moderators on managing the room and the topic of discussion. Moreover, this helps users avoid shifting to other social media apps to text each other.

A Clubhouse spokesperson responded to The Verge saying that the feature is still under consideration of being released to the general public:

“As part of our product building process, Clubhouse regularly explores and tests potential features. These functions sometimes become part of the app, sometimes they don’t. We do not comment on potential features.”
