Twitter has announced the latest addition of the Indian payment gateway firm Razorpay to their Tip Jar feature. Razorpay joins Twitter alongside other gateway providers PayPal, Cash App, Patreon, Bandcamp and Venmo.
Twitter revealed that their latest partnership hopes to provide users in India with a secure mode of transaction and an all-inclusive feature:
“By integrating Razorpay, we are hoping to provide people in India with a simple and secure way to send money as a token of appreciation or as a gift. Tip Jar is available in multiple Indian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil.”
Twitter earlier announced the monetization Tip Jar feature in May wherein users can support their favourite creators with Twitter taking no cut from the amount. The new Razorpay option is currently available to a limited number of Twitter users that include creators, journalists, public figures, experts, and community leaders. Twitter users can make a monetary transaction on Razorpay using UPI, credit and debit cards, net banking, wallets and more.
