Fashion and lifestyle influencer Julie Sariñana, popularly known as Sincerely Jules, launched her latest 100% vegan and cruelty free nail polish brand ‘Color Dept.’ on July 14.
Sariñana shared her love for nail polish that began in her early twenties and how it was her first self-care experience:
“I first fell in love with nails in my early twenties. I worked at my brothers super cute trendy nail salon at the time in Silver Lake called Gloss Nail spa when I was 20 as the front desk salon manager. It was there that I learned the bonding experience of self-care with your gfs, the ‘me’ time people craved through getting your nails done. It was something that had an impact on me because that was the first time I got to experience self-care and learned to appreciate it. I became obsessed with nail polishes, nail art, experimenting with new colors and getting my nails done while working there. Every time there was free time, I asked one of the technicians to polish my nails because I wanted to match my outfit that day; it just always made me feel prettier! I would get mani/pedis once a week as that was one of the fun perks working at the salon- it made me a little spoiled & obsessive to change up my nails weekly and match my mood with my nails! The idea to fuse nails with fashion was a no brainer for me after working there!”
Color Dept.’s first nail polish collection is available in eight diverse color shades called Coconut Water, Kiwi Juice, Strawberry Jam, Hydrated, Morning Squeeze, Avo Guac, Grape Soda, and The Top Coat.
