TikTok has announced the launch of TikTok Radio, in collaboration with SiriusXM. The new music channel will feature popular TikTok creators, music artists, DJs and tastemakers.
The debut launch of TikTok Radio on August 20 included creator takeovers throughout the week from Alex Warren, Ashnikko, Bella Poarch, Dillon Francis, Dixie D’Amelio, Ed Sheeran, Just Stef, JXDN, Lil Nas X, Loren Gray, Noah Beck, Normani, Spencer X, Tai Verdes, Walker Hayes and many more.
Scott Greenstein – President and Chief Content Officer at SiriusXM – highlighted how TikTok Radio will cover various topics around the music industry and its growing culture:
“Our groundbreaking new channel with TikTok is a first-of-its-kind, capturing the pulse of the global music culture, vibrancy and vitality found on the entertaining social platform and recreated as a full-time music channel on live national radio and our streaming platforms. The creators, who are also presenting the music on TikTok Radio, are deeply involved in the channel and will reflect the unique sound and personality of TikTok that is so enmeshed with today’s music culture and community. TikTok Radio will be featuring a list of digital creators such as 8illy, Cat Haley, Hindzsight, Lamar Dawson, and Taylor Cassidy, who will share their music experiences, stream top trending tracks, give an inside look into the making of viral TikTok trends and many more. Apart from this, TikTok’s ‘For You’ section will also be hosting LIVE sessions every Friday and Saturday from DJ Habibeats and DJ CONST. TikTok users can check out their remixes live or view the session recordings on the SXM app.
