As th MENA region’s Creator Economy continues to mature heading into 2022, those in the industry remain hungry for new and innovative ways to meaningfully connect with their audiences – in more engaging formats. Julie Bogaert, Head of Talent Partnerships – EMEA, shares insider tips for creators to keep in mind when creating content on Snapchat, increasing both their reach and level of audience interaction.
1. Keep it personal:
Snapchat is a platform focused on authenticity and real friendships. Personal, emotional, and authentic content often generates far greater engagement. Interweaving expert advice with personal stories and anecdotes is a great approach. Keep in mind that Snapchatters also come to you to learn something new and because they consider you an authority on a topic. A well-defined, personal focus will serve them and you the best, whether that’s exploring fashion, food, or any other domain.
2. No likes, no pressure:
There are no public likes or comments on Snapchat. You can truly be your authentic self without the pressure to have to impress anyone. You are sharing compelling content with real people that are genuinely interested in what you create.
3. Consistency is key:
This is what ultimately keeps your audience engaged and wanting more. Determine a regular schedule to share new content, whether daily, weekly, or another frequency.
4. Mind the multitaskers:
We all tend to multitask, and those on the platform may do the same. Your audience may be listening to music or be with a group of people. The smart use of captions and sounds can help you cater to someone on the go, and allow them to follow your content more easily.
5. Give audiences something to chew on:
Snackable videos go a long way in keeping audiences engaged. Posting longer Stories of at least five Snaps or more will encourage followers to stay engaged. To keep things fresh, utilize the available creative tools on the app such as captions, Lenses, Sounds, GIFs, and Stickers from one story to the next.
6. Share and learn from others:
There’s no need to work in a silo in the new creator economy. The recently launched Snapchat Creator Hub is a go-to destination to learn how to test new ideas and innovate with established tools and use cases. In the coming months, we will also be launching Story Studio, a standalone app that gives creators a suite of intuitive, powerful editing tools to make professional content for mobile on mobile.
7. Subscribe, subscribe:
Last but not least, before you sign off, always remember to encourage non-subscribers to subscribe! Creators on Snapchat today can also urge their audiences to turn on Story notifications for regular updates so that they never miss the action.
