PewDiePie vs T-Series: Who Will Win?

The drama continues into 2019

PewDiePie vs T-Series: Who Will Win?

Have you heard of the PewDiePie vs T-Series feud?

If you haven’t you probably don’t subscribe to the Swedish gamer’s YouTube channel and aren’t a fan of watching Bollywood trailers on the video-sharing platform.

Here’s the gist of what’s been going down between the biggest YouTuber in the world and the Mumbai-based music label and film production company’s YouTube channel…

PewDiePie (a.k.a. Felix Kjellberg) boasts over 80 million subscribers on his YouTube channel and is considered the most popular YouTuber in the world (even if he wasn’t included in the 2018 YouTube Rewind video).

Last summer T-Series’ YouTube channel started racking up the subscribers, threatening PewDiePie’s reign as the biggest channel on the platform.

Spoiler alert: T-Series’ channel never surpassed PewDiePie in subscriber count.

According to Independent.ie “. . . the company’s YouTube channel is run by a team of 13, featuring music videos and some trailers. With such a large team, it uploads several videos a day, compared to PewDiePie who posts one a day.”

Many YouTube diehards are keen to support PewDiePie as he is an independent content creator.

YouTube sensations Adam Saleh and Logan Paul have publically declared their support for PewDiePie by uploading videos to their channels to encourage their following to follow the (sometimes controversial) Swedish vlogger.

Adam Saleh stopped by T-Series’ office. Here’s what happened…

Logan Paul has said he will donate one Swedish krona to charity for every one of his subscribers who subscribes to PewDiePie’s channel.

As of January 2019, PewDiePie is still the most popular YouTube channel, which doesn’t seem to bother T-Series’ team in the slightest bit.

If you’re interested in keeping an eye on the count, there’s a live YouTube feed devoted to tracking exactly how many subscribers each channel has.

“I am really not bothered about this race. I don’t even know why PewDiePie is taking this so seriously.”

“I am really not bothered about this race. I don’t even know why PewDiePie is taking this so seriously. He’s getting his people to push him, promote him. We are not competing with him,” Bhushan Kumar, T-Series’ Managing Director, said to BBC’s Soutik Biswas.

While T-Series may be downplaying the “war” some fans are taking the feud seriously. According to Wired thousands of printers were recently hacked and printed messages encouraging people to follow PewDiePie.
