Guess who just set another world record, in honour of National Day? The UAE!
A group of divers flew over the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai with the “largest flag flown in free fall” to set a breath taking world record.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai (@faz3) posted a video to his Instagram of the World Record in action.
It showed a group of five sky divers along with two additional divers spiraled around the flag before releasing red and green smoke in the air, indicated the colours of the UAE flag.
“Another proud moment as our nation’s flag sets a new World Record for the largest flag flown in free fall measuring 144.28m. Happy National Day. #UAE” Sheikh Hamdan wrote in his caption.
According to Gulf Today, the video received overwhelming response, garnering over 280, 000 views and 4, 000 comments within less than two hours.
Emiratis and expats burst into immense joy and shared the video all over social media. Social media users congratulated Sheikh Hamdan on the achievement, while others shared their National Day pride and excitement within the comments section.
