Hacker Group Strikes Facebook's Instagram and Twitter Accounts

Facebook and Messenger’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts have been hacked… for brief period of time this past weekend.

The hackers call themselves OurMine, which is a group known for taking over well-known ad prominent social media accounts. OurMine sells its services, claiming that the group will scan the security of social media accounts and websites in exchange for a fee.

The hackers were able to send out several and almost identical tweets which is unique to the account’s takeover to OurMine’s hacking technique.

“Well, even Facebook is hackable but at least their security is better than Twitter,” the tweets, which have been deleted, said.

In one tweet, which has been deleted as well, the hackers tagged Keemstar, a gossip vlogger. The reason behind it is still unknown as all the tweet said was, “O u r M i n e @KEEMSTAR.”

“The accounts were hacked through a third-party platform,” Twitter said as they confirm the hacks. “As soon as we were made aware of the issue, we locked the compromised accounts and are working closely with our partners at Facebook to restore them.”
