Is VidCon Abu Dhabi Cancelled?

Here’s how coronavirus has affected the region’s biggest online video event, scheduled to take place later this month

Is VidCon Abu Dhabi Cancelled?

While VidCon Abu Dhabi will not be happening any time soon, fans will need to wait a few more months (yes, you ready that correctly) before being able to meet their favorite content creators and attend workshops at one of the biggest online video festivals in the world.

Is VidCon Abu Dhabi cancelled? The short answer is no.

VidCon Abu Dhabi has officially been postponed to December 2020, according to an announcement on the company’s website.

The infamous worldwide event which celebrates content creators, fans and everything involving sharing video across a variety of platforms has moved its date from March 25-28 to December 16-19, 2020.

“Our first priority is the safety and health of our attendees, sponsors, speakers, creators, and staff.  In light of the recent health precautions taken by authorities worldwide to manage the current global health risks, VidCon Abu Dhabi will be postponed to December 16th-19th, 2020,” VidCon’s General Manager Jim Louderback said, in an announcement on the company’s website.

“We understand that this news may be disappointing to our fans but feel it is best for all involved. We are dedicated to creating the best possible event in December.”

What will happen if I’ve already purchased a ticket to VidCon Abu Dhabi?

Fans can rest assured that any tickets purchased for the event will still be valid in December, and VidCon will also be gifting them a free companion ticket for the inconvenience. Anyone who has purchased a ticket and cannot attend in December is eligible for a full-refund (however, they will need to give notice and request the refund before October 2020.)

Anyone who is interested in attending VidCon Abu Dhabi in December can check the website for more details.
