'Orange is the New Black' Creator will make a COVID-19 inspired series for Netflix

As filming on many film and TV sets have been postponed indefinitely due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jenji Kohan, creator of ‘Orange is the New Black’ has signed a deal with Netflix to produce an anthology series called Social Distancing which will be produced and filmed remotely.

Social Distancing will be set during the coronavirus pandemic and will feature actors filming themselves at home.

The series will begin production in a few weeks according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Not many details about the show have been released, like a cast list, plot points or a release date, though production is set to start over the next few weeks.

In a statement, Kohan and the other show creators have said, “Our job as storytellers is to reflect reality, and in this new, bizarre, bewildering reality we are all experiencing, we feel passionate about finding connection as we all remain at a distance.”
