Facebook’s experimental NPE (New Product Experimentation) team has launched a new app called ‘CatchUp’ which aims to facilitate group phone chats among users.
The app is similar to FB’s Messenger Rooms which allows users to see when contacts are online before initiating conversations.
Similarly, on ‘CatchUp’, you can see when your friends are online and users will also be able to join existing group voice chats.
As per the app description:
“Catching up has never been this easy. See who’s available and effortlessly join one-on-one and group calls. Never play phone tag or make an appointment to call someone again. Keep in touch more, think about it less. Any time you’re free to talk, CatchUp!”
Both you and your contacts will need to download and install the app for it to be of use.
CatchUp is currently being tested in the U.S. for a limited time on iOS and Android devices.
Will you use the app?
