Al-Ula Performance

Singer, songwriter, pianist, and 15-time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys fired up the historical city of Al-Ula this past week after putting on a historic performance that had social media channels across the kingdom buzzing with excitement and positive reaction.

Keys rocked the stage in a sleek blue dress, accompanied by a band of Ardaa performers (Traditional dance in Saudi,) and performed throwback tunes such as “Girl On Fire” and “Unthinkable,” with traditional Ardaa drums and chants being performed in the background, making this performance one that Saudis and people all over the world will never forget.

This performance marked her second time in Saudi, specifically Al-Ula, where she previously performed at the Maraya Venue in February 2022. Her debut performance was a collaboration with Good Intentions, a global creative agency owned by American rapper, and her husband Swizz Beats.

Key’s performance was followed by an afterparty in AlUla Wheels with three major international DJ’s and a women-to-women talk the next day, where she spoke to a number of influential women in Saudi Arabia in a private talk.

Women To Women

The panel included: Rasha Alkhamis, Saudi Arabia’s first female boxer; Mashael Alobeidan, a professional rally driver and Hafsa Alkhudairi, a writer and arts and culture initiatives lead at the Royal Commission for AlUla. This powerful union of women discussed the challenges women face and how they can become each other’s allies and praised inspiring women across the region. Both the concert and the Women to Women event were hosted by RCU and Good Intentions, an agency that continues to bring amazing experiences and shed light on local talent in the kingdom.
