If you have access to the Internet and have been anywhere near your phone during the past week, then you’ve probably watched or heard about season 2 of Bridgerton.
It’s safe to say that no one could imagine how creator Chris Van Dusen and producer Shonda Rhimes would be able the bewildering romance that we witnessed in season 1 between the two lead characters played by Phoebe Dynevor and Regé-Jean Page; however, the duo surely managed to outdo themselves.
After its release on 25 March, the series was quick to become a global phenomenon once more and reach #1 in most countries in the world, shedding a very bright spotlight on the three new lead actors characters, two of whom have recently joined the show.
Fans are obsessing over the love triangle between Lord Bridgerton played by Jonathan Bailey and the two Sharma sisters played by Simone Ashley and Charithra Chadran; the return of the previous cast members has also renewed the interest in the actors on a personal level, explaining the number of fans that flooded their Instagram profiles.
In just a matter of days, hundreds of thousands fans (including ourselves) have hit the follow button: Simone Ashley went from having 530k followers to 1.2M followers, Jonathan Bailey jumped from 1M to 1.6M, while Charithra moved from 50k to 265k.
Other actors such as Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), Nicola Coughlan (Lady Whistledown) and Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Bridgerton) also added more than 100k followers to their count.
Bridgerton is now officially a platform from which actors can be launched into fame and given the chance to hit the big time. From an influencer marketing perspective, the attention that these performers are receiving will surely open many doors for them to secure brand deals, sponsorships and lots of magazine covers; just ask Simone and Charithra!
