Did you see the “Friends” banter on Instagram?

Jennifer Anniston and David Schwimmer still have the “Ross and Rachel” banter from Friends.

Friends - Jennifer Anniston

If you love Friends then you will love the real-life comedy Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer are giving us over Instagram.

“I’ll be there for you, because you’re there for me too…”

Friends like family is a term that each character from Friends will resonate with. Having finished 10 Seasons together over a long period of time, Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe, and Joey still remain in contact with one another after playing such a huge role in each other’s lives.

The mockery still continues as we evidently see this morning on social media.

Friends in the digital age

Jennifer Aniston who plays Rachel in the comedy hit series Friends, revealed Something’s coming in her new Instagram post.

Pictured in the shower, with her back to the camera, mirror in front of her with two long white bottles, we can only assume that Jennifer is launching a shampoo and conditioner. The product which is being launched today has been endorsed by fellow actor, David Schwimmer who plays Ross.

David, being the natural comedic actor he is, re-takes the picture in the shower with his face scrunched up and soap in his eyes. His caption, following on from Jennifer’s caption, reads ‘a tower I hope??’

Of course, fans and followers are in hysterics going back and forth from one social media page to the other and Jennifer also left her comment under Schwimmers post. Taking inspiration from the Friends script, she writes ‘Schwim!? Trying to steal my thunder!? 🤨❤️’

The picture of him showing support to his fellow co-star through mockery received over 1 million likes with Jennifer Aniston’s comment reaching 57455 likes. With the tv series being nearly everyone’s favourite to watch, it was only expected that most people were commenting Friends quotes on the image.

Marketing Strategy?

Could this be just friends having fun together or a marketing strategy? Whatever it is, it’s working as the numbers on David’s post combined with Jennifer’s will potentially create a sell-out on the product launch.

The question may not even be regarding friends promoting each other, but how well comedy posts work in marketing.
