Bashar Mohammed Khair Al Kayal is a 25-year-old YouTuber with 1.41 million subscribers. Born in the UAE, Bashar known as @Basharkk on social media graduated from Abu Dhabi University in 2020 and was introduced to the world of gaming at the age of 3. On Instagram and TikTok, he has over 100k followers which continue to grow on a daily basis.
Young YouTubers Earning Serious Money
Although he wanted to turn to a more professional working industry, Bashar opted to go outside of his boundaries and do something he enjoyed. Now, he earns around $15,000 to $20,000 just from advertisements and sponsorship deals in the gaming market. Just from streaming, Bashar earns approximately $3,000 on YouTube alone. He says “Some brands that reach out for advertisement deals have nothing to do with gaming, but they understand the potential audiences it can reach.”

Even a small-time video game streamer can earn $50 to $1,000 on the social media platform Twitch with the numbers growing day by day. However, most streamers prefer to use YouTube, especially in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and in the wider Middle East region.
E-Sports in Saudi Arabia will grow by 250%
Saudi Arabia gamers drive viewership and the e-sports market is set to grow by 250% in the next eight years. Bashar noted in an interview that 90% of his viewership comes from Saudi Arabia and the rest from Oman, Kuwait, and the UAE.
Mohammed Saud Al-Tamimi, the Governor of Saudi Arabia’s Communications and Information Technology Commission said 80% of the Saudi population are gamers. It is the highest per capita globally. By 2023, the gaming industry’s contribution to the Kingdom’s gross domestic product will have multiplied 50 times.
