The takeover, conceptualized by Sony PlayStation and ITP Gaming, will see projections of key visuals from the game illuminate the gallery across four exhibitions to depict its core themes: Majestic Nature and Ruins, Awe-Inspiring Machines, Tribal Culture, and, finally, the game’s protagonist, Aloy.
From the frozen mountain ranges of the north to the hot, dense jungles of the south, the world of Horizon Forbidden West spans a wide variety of different geographies interspersed with overgrown ruins – all of which will be showcased in the ‘Majestic Nature and Ruins’ segment of the exhibition.
The game world is inhabited by highly advanced and deadly machines that combine mechanical strength with animalistic ferocity, as highlighted through the ‘Awe-Inspiring Machines’ element of the display.
Horizon Forbidden West’s story focuses on the last remnants of mankind, who have regrouped into distinct tribes with their own rich culture and traditions. These are the focus of the ‘Tribal Culture’ portion of the exhibition.
The game’s main protagonist, Aloy, is curious, determined, and intent on uncovering the mysteries of the world as she hunts the machines and survives in the unforgiving wilds. Her story forms the final section of the uniquely immersive experience – in which PlayStation Arabia YouTube host Abdulkareem sits down to play the game for the very first time.
