Anime releasing in September
September is here, which means it’s time for new releases, and the anime community cannot be forgotten. New, enchanting, content is coming out this month before fans get to revisit favorite’s such as Jujutsu Kaisen, and Attack on Titans later this year. Here’s what’s coming out this month:
Bakugan (2023)
Bakugan (2023) is a reboot of the popular 2007 anime series of the same name. It follows the story of Dan Kuso and his friends as they battle with Bakugan, creatures from another dimension. Releasing September 1st, the new series will feature brand new characters and a new storyline.
Gamera Rebirth (2023)
Gamera Rebirth is a web anime series that is set to release September 7th on Netflix and will take place in post-apocalyptic Tokyo that has been destroyed by the monster Gyaos. The series follows the story of three children who are saved by Gamera, a giant turtle monster who fights to protect the city from Gyaos and other monsters.
Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series Part 4 (2021-)
Coming to Netflix on September 8, Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series (Part 4) is the final season of the long-running Pokémon anime series. It follows the adventures of Ash Ketchum and his friends as they travel the world, battling Pokémon and collecting Gym badges. The series will also feature the return of several popular characters, including Mewtwo and Lugia.
Maboroshi (2023)
This isn’t a series, but a film, but it is anime. It tells the story of a town where time has stopped after a massive explosion in a factory. The people living in the town are trapped in a suffocating limbo, hoping that they will one day be able to return to their normal lives. It will release on September 15th.
Kengan Ashura, Season 2 (2019-)
This series is known for its brutal and well-choreographed fight scenes. Kengan Ashura follows the story of Tokita Ohma as he continues to fight in the Kengan Annihilation Tournament, a secret tournament where powerful fighters battle to the death. The series will release on Netflix on September 21st.
Castlevania: Nocturne (2023)
Castlevania: Nocturne is an anime series based on the popular video game franchise Castlevania. It tells the story of Richter Belmont, a descendant of the legendary vampire hunter Trevor Belmont. Richter must battle Dracula and his minions to save the world from darkness. The mini series will release on Netflix on September 28th.
A Girl & Her Guard Dog (2023)
This anime is based off a manga of the same name. It tells the story of Ichika Arima, a girl who is raised by her grandfather, who is involved in illegal activities. Ichika is assigned a guard dog, named Keiya, to protect her. The two of them form a close bond as they learn to trust each other. The series is set to premiere on September 28, 2023.
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is also an anime series based on the manga of the same name. It tells the story of Frieren, an elf who realizes her immortality at one of her friends’ funerals. Frieren sets out on a journey to fulfill the last wishes of her comrades. The anime is set to premiere with a two-hour special episode on September 29, 2023.
Firefighter Daigo: Rescuer in Orange
This anime series tells the story of Daigo Kanzaki, a firefighter who is determined to save lives. Daigo and his team of firefighters must face challenging rescue missions as they put their lives on the line to protect others. It is set to release on September 30th.
