Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has reportedly proposed to his long-term girlfriend Lauren Sanchez in France.
Who is Lauren Sanchez?
According to her Instagram bio, Lauren Sanchez is an ‘Emmy-award winning journalist, Founder [of] Black Ops Aviation & Vice Chair [of] @BezosEarthFund.
Her career began as an American news anchor and entertainment reporter working for numerous television stations in Los Angeles, California.
Sanchezs’ career grew as a correspondent on the show “Extra” from 2000 to 2023 co-hosting the Fox Morning show “Good Day LA” from 2011 to 2017. The business has always been something that has sparked Lauren’s interest, and therefore she has been involved in many entrepreneurial ventures.
As a bit of a daredevil, Lauren has worked as a pilot and was involved in many ariel stunts for Hollywood productions. Her presence in the media however grew dramatically when it was revealed that she and Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos were in a relationship in 2019.
After Jeff Bezos divorced his wife MacKenzie Bezos which led to widespread coverage and scrutiny of their personal lives.
The Proposal
On Tuesday 24th of May, Lauren posted an image of her applying what looks like a Kylie Jenner lipgloss, and diamond heart necklace with the caption ‘Last night in Cannes.’
It was reported that while Lauren was there, Jeff Bezos had proposed to his girlfriend on a private mega yacht worth US$500 million.
Pictures have already been released of the enormous ring Bezos proposed to her with as the couple looked exceedingly happy on the balcony.
Inside The Mega Yacht
When thinking of the ‘Flying Fox’ which is the name of the million-dollar yacht, we think of the fruit bat. The Flying Fox is currently a vulnerable species in the world and has many environmental benefits to the ecosystem.
As well as where the name has been derived from, the look and style of the yacht amplifies luxury, sophistication, and beauty. The Flying Fox features a 400 square meter spa spread across two floors with a hammam, sauna, massage area, gym, and cryo sauna. On the lower deck, there is a spacious jacuzzi with access to the sea through sea platforms.
There is also a comfortable living room space with a wood fireplace, a dining table for 22 people, and a cinema.
A Public Announcement
Although the couple has not yet confirmed the news, many people, including celebrities and friends, have commented on Lauren Sanchez’s Cannes post. Christine Devine commented on the post saying Let me get in my congratulations! Live your best life. Lisa Breckenridge commented saying Gorgeous and congrats, with others sharing their congratulations through emojis and gifs.
