About LinkedIn’s Verification Tools

Having verified information helps give authenticity to others and LinkedIn knows how important it is to build a trusted community of professionals to help them make informed decisions and connect with verified professionals. Instead of messing around with the definition of what verification means like other social media platforms (Twitter and Meta), LinkedIn is rolling out some anti-scam features.

LinkedIn rolled out a set of verification features in April and also announced to expect more in the coming months, for example, a new personal identification verification process enabling users to add a confirmation note based on their Government-assigned ID. LinkedIn announced several forms of verifications last month:

  • Work Email verification
  • ID Verification
  • Workplace Verification

To add another level of trust to its listings, LinkedIn is now bringing a verification tool for job postings. The company is all set to show verifications related to a job post and display verified information about a job poster or their company.

New Verification Elements Within Job Posts

The verification tool related to job postings will display information about the job posters and their companies, and will further provide more context as to who the prospective employer is based on their LinkedIn profile and the information provided.

LinkedIn’s words at the time of the announcement on a blog post:

“We also rolled out new free ways, you can verify your identity, work email addresses, and workplaces on LinkedIn. We’re excited to be partnering with industry leaders Microsoft Entra and CLEAR to help ensure that LinkedIn is your source for trusted, verified information.”

Now when you will see verifications on job posts, that means there is information that has been verified as authentic by the job poster, LinkedIn, or one of our partners. The verified information will show whether the poster is affiliated with an official company page, has verified their work email or workplace, or their government ID was verified through CLEAR.

LinkedIn will now display message alerts if any information includes high-risk content that could impact the security of your account. Beyond verification and security features, LinkedIn also introduced its Career Starter Guide – a comprehensive overview for anyone starting in their career to find a job that is the right fit for them.
