As Saudi Arabia prepares to inaugurate its first-ever international jazz festival in Riyadh, now is the time to put on your best costume and groove.
The Riyadh International Jazz Festival, an exciting new event, will be held in the Mayadeen Theatre in Diriyah, Riyadh, from February 7 to February 9, 2024.
The festival, which will take place over three evenings, is expected to feature some of the biggest worldwide performers as well as new artists from the region whose music will instill a sense of vitality in the ambiance and deliver soulful songs for everyone to enjoy. Major names like ‘Queen of Funk’ Chaka Khan, jazz-funk band The Cat Empire, ‘TrapHouseJazz’ pioneer Masego, and many others will headline the festival.
The event also invites new and emerging artists to demonstrate their talents.
Each night is more captivating than the last, highlighting the genius of famous clarinettist Peter Long and his ensemble at the Jazz Cafe. The schedule also includes remarkable talents from Saudi musicians such as Noura Alamry, Sara Shafie, Lou Lies, and Abdullah Filfilan, who perform in a mesmerizing rotation.

The Riyadh International Jazz Festival is organized by the Music Commission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to promote the country’s booming music industry. CEO Paul Pacifico commented on this latest event, “The first Riyadh International Jazz Festival is a unique opportunity to showcase some of the world’s most renowned jazz acts with exceptional Saudi talents.
