One faint look at Roshni Misbah’s Instagram might portray her as a typical young woman of today, occasionally donning stylish high-heeled boots, showcasing a distinctive fashion sense, and commanding a dedicated following of over 252K. However, a closer look reveals that Misbah is far from ordinary.
Delving into Misbah’s page, her profound affinity for motorcycles becomes strikingly apparent, with the majority of her posts bearing testament to this passion. Earning the moniker of the “Hijabi Biker of Delhi,” this 29-year-old Indian rider influencer has captivated her city by maneuvering her Honda CBR 250 cc through its streets, much to the surprise of onlookers. In doing so, she has swiftly become an inspiration to young hijabis worldwide.
Misbah’s Instagram profile aptly describes her as a Punjabi-Muslim, an erudite scholar in Arab and Islamic Studies at Jamia Millia Islamia in New Delhi, an astute businesswoman, and the sole “girl in India to own the fastest bike.”
According to Hindustan Times, Misbah’s foray into the world of motorcycles commenced during her school years, in the ninth standard. After honing her skills on her friend’s and father’s motorcycles over the years, she acquired her very own Bajaj Avenger Cruiser 220, contributing half of the funds herself while her father covered the remaining amount.
In an interview, Misbah expressed, “Unlike many girls, I aspired to ride a bike rather than a gearless scooter. My passion for motorcycles has always burned bright, and now I am fulfilling it.” Presently, the young rider is an active member of various biking groups in her city, including Bikerni, an all-female biker collective based in Delhi. Her celebrity status extends beyond the realm of social media, as she often encounters admirers throughout the city who recognize her and offer enthusiastic greetings. Furthermore, fellow female students at her university often approach her with requests for motorcycle riding lessons, showering her with praise.
According to SportsWallah.com, Misbah has traveled more than 24,000 kilometers across India, riding over 60 different bikes to date. When she is not traversing the streets of Delhi and beyond, she devotes her time to planning her future pursuit of a Ph.D. in Arab culture, supporting her father in their family business, and meticulously strategizing her next motorcycle acquisition, with her sights set on a majestic Triumph Rocket 2300 cc.
