The inaugural Red Sea Fashion Week has begun, taking place this week, from Thursday, May 16 to Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the St Regis Red Sea Resort near Jeddah.
The Saudi Fashion Commission organized the event, which aims to strengthen the Kingdom’s deep commitment to being a world-class destination for luxury fashion and cultural exchanges.
The three-day festival, set against the scenic backdrop of Ummahat Island, has kicked off with a highly anticipated opening show, which will then be followed by two days of runway presentations and activations featuring enticing ready-to-wear pieces, fashionable resort collections, luxury apparel, and stunning jewelry.
Earlier this week, the Fashion Commission announced that renowned Saudi fashion designer Tima Abid will begin the showcase. Tima Abid’s haute couture collections, launched in 2003, celebrate her Saudi Arabian ancestry.
Her bespoke works are a thrilling combination of modern design and cultural elements. Tima is renowned for her beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail, and her clientele includes royalty and prominent artists.
She debuted at Paris Haute Couture in 2020, bringing her own Arabian flair to a global audience.
The famed fashion genius is now bringing her deeply rooted designs back to her homeland, where she will dazzle the fashionable elite during Red Sea Fashion Week 2024.
