YouTube has announced an initial beta-testing of a new feature that helps creators develop their own channel guidelines. Creators can set upto 3 channel guidelines for viewers to accept prior to commenting on their videos.
YouTube revealed that the feature would help creators to have better control over the conversations that occur in their channel’s comments section:
“These are a specific set of rules that everyone must read and accept before they post a comment to the channel that help outline the kind of conversations [creators] want to see on that channel.”
To see if you’ve been selected for the beta-test feature, follow these steps:
- Go to YouTube Studio
- Tap on Settings
- Click on Community
In addition to this, YouTube revealed that they are currently in the works of a feature that will warn creators on the timestamp where a creator’s content has violated their Community Guidelines:
“In our efforts to make sure creators have the best chance to understand Community Guidelines, when to appeal, and how to avoid future violations, what we’re doing is testing policy emails, where we’ll link to a specific timestamp in the video where we believe a violation has occurred.”
