Instagram is bringing ads to its Shop tab in countries where Instagram Shop is available. Instagram began testing the ads feature for Instagram Shop earlier this month with multiple U.S. advertisers such as Away, Donny Davy, Boo Oh, Clare paint, JNJ Gifts, DEUX and Fenty Beauty.
Instagram revealed that the social media firm has decided to roll out the feature after a successful beta-launch:
“After a successful test, we’re launching ads on the Instagram Shop tab globally to make it easier for people to discover and shop from brands when they’re already in the mood to browse. These ads will appear as tiles on the Instagram Shop tab home page.”
The ads will feature in the home page within the Instagram Shop tab. Instagram users can click on the ads to view the product description, product photos, and other products sold by the brand. Moreover, users can also hide or report the ad, wishlist their favourite ad products and share the ad with their friends.
