The horror film Megan Is Missing has been banned in New Zealand, but slowly creeping up again on many people’s TikTok.

The film is said to be so scary, that even the Director of the film Michael Goi said “I didn’t get to give you the customary warnings that I used to give people before they watched Megan Is Missing.

They are: do not watch the movie in the middle of the night, do not watch the movie alone, and if you see the words ‘Photo Number one’ pop up on your screen, you have about four seconds to shut off the movie, if you’re already freaking out before you start seeing things that may you don’t want to see.”

Not only has it left viewers scared to sleep at night because of the nature of the film and the graphic content, but the film has resurfaced to shock fans all over again. This time, clips of the movie have been shared and gone viral over the social media platform TikTok with viewers left traumatized.

From watching the chilling trailer, the movie followers the lives of two normal teenage girls – Megan Stewart, played by Rachel Quinn, and Amy Herman, played by Amber Perkins. Both of the best friends live in North Hollywood when suddenly, Megan goes missing.

After having conversations with someone online and meeting them, the story unfolds into the mystery of where did Megan disappear? Due to the major backlash of the film with its shocking scenes, the New Zealand Office of Film and Literature Classification banned the movie.
