- The commenters will not be notified when their comment is voted down. The number of dislikes on the comment will also not be visible to users. The main priority of the video-sharing app is to find ways to create a better experience for its users.
- The platform has created this feature to be able to receive efficient feedback from its users. The comment section on TikTok videos is probably not the best place to go, but with a feature like this, the app will be able to create a platform that is healthier for its audience.
The feature rolled out globally on the 23rd of September, and users are getting to use the new feature now. Several other social media apps have similar features that involve downvoting comments. Reddit has a downvote, and so does YouTube with its dislike button. Twitter has also been testing a downvote button for tweet replies.
