Who is ‘The Man’ behind the Influencer?
In the world of Influencers and coding, a revelation has surfaced involving Eduard Sizvos, the mastermind behind the renowned software developer conference, DevTernity. Already under scrutiny for allegedly fabricating female speakers for an event, Sizovs now finds himself linked to @coding_unicorn, a popular Instagram account portraying a female coder named Julia.
With a staggering 115,000 followers, the Influencer, @coding_unicorn claims offer an insider’s look into Julia’s life as a professional softwar developer. However, 404 Media has peeled back layers of evidence suggesting that Sizvos may be the wizard behind the curtain. Intriguingly, a YouTube video displays Sizovs previously logging into the account’s email, and photos revealing Julia’s computer screen expose her logged in as Sizovs. The plot thickens as some of Julia’s Instagram captions turn out to be verbatim copies of Sizovs’ LinkedIn posts.
Shortcomings unfolded
Julia, a DevTernity enthusiast, was set to speak at a conference but purportedly switched roles to assist with organization. Unfortunately, this conference, scheduled to commence on December 7, faced cancellation amid allegations of adding fictitious women to enhance diversity. Two removed speakers, one from Coinbase and another from Microsoft MVP and WhatsApp, lacked any online presence or, possibly, existence.
Regarding the allegations, Sizvos defended himself on X, expressing confusion over the criticism, rather the magnitude of the criticism. While admitting one profile was a “demo persona,” skeptics question the authenticity of this explanation, suggesting it was not as simple as an auto-generated entity. Looking forward, Sizovs pledges intensified efforts to ensure diversity at future events.
