Sony PlayStation Partners With ITP Gaming To Break World Record For Horizon Forbidden West

Can you guess what it may be?

Sony PlayStation and ITP Gaming have created the largest-ever 2D bottle cap mosaic depicting the key art from Horizon Forbidden West as part of a series of activations to mark the game’s launch.

The installation, made from more than 250,000 bottle caps spanning across 260 square meters, brings to life the game’s narrative and raises awareness around sustainability and the impact of climate change.

The mosaic is on display to the public at Dubai’s world-class beachfront destination, La Mer, until 17 March.

Shahram Shamsaee, CEO of Merex Investment Group, said: “Through our commitment to deliver unrivaled experiences in a sustainable way in Dubai, our partnership with ITP Gaming in association with Sony PlayStation showcases the importance of recycling and for plastic to be used in a meaningful way.

“This initiative will continue to build momentum for a better world in the emirate following the recent Dubai Can launch which was an overwhelming success. It will enable us to continue spreading environmental awareness and developing our world-class beachfront destination in a clean, sustainable manner.”

The mosaic design was created by ITP Gaming and Lebanese-based artist Caroline Chaptini, who previously held the record for the largest bottle cap mosaic, the tallest plastic bottle sculpture, and the largest flag made out of recyclable material.

This installation is one of a number of activations for Horizon Forbidden West managed by ITP Gaming, which also includes a takeover of the GCC’s largest immersive digital art centre, Infinity Des Lumières in Dubai Mall.

The gallery takeover features projections of key visuals from the game which illuminate the space across four exhibitions to depict its core themes. You can watch the takeover on PlayStation Arabia’s YouTube channel here.

The final element of the game’s launch overseen by ITP Gaming features life-sized replicas of the in-game ‘Clawstrider’, a robotic enemy type that the main protagonist faces, installed at landmark locations throughout the emirate. You can see more footage of these here.
