Features of the new TweetDeck
Twitter has announced that TweetDeck 2.0 will soon be a Twitter Blue exclusive. This isn’t shocking knowing that the platform is coming up with all new features for its Blue subscribers who are ready to pay for these features.
Evidently, this means that the blue users of its native tweet management platform will soon have to pay up to keep scheduling their tweets via the app. What else does this new version offer? Let’s dive deep into what new features this TweetDeck 2.0 include (as of now):
- A sign-on flow
- This can help users set up their TweetDeck experience the way they’d like to. They also have the option to include existing columns from the standard version in the TweetDeck Preview experience to have a full view.
- A Tweet composer
- This will let users create threads and add photos, videos, GIFs, polls, or emojis to their Tweets, including scheduled Tweets.
- Advanced search
- Will help users find and browse the kind of content they are looking for.
- Tweet order
- Users can sort their Tweet data, can see the top-performing Tweets or the latest Tweets first in columns.
- Decks
- To help users organize their columns into groups for cleaner workspaces.
- A Column Creator
- Will offers a more intuitive way to create columns and includes the ability to “Search Twitter” from within the column. Create column types like profile, topics, explore, events, moments, and bookmarks.
- Video Docking
- To watch a video while performing other functions like accessing content in the same column, and changing Decks.
To be precise there is nothing major, in terms of functional or technological advancements, but because of some handy elements that are being added in the new version, the platform’s interface seems to be a little more appealing.
Twitter is working on adding the Teams feature, apparently renamed to Delegates, to the normal (non-Tweetdeck) version of Twitter. The code says this will replace the Tweetdeck version of this feature.https://t.co/zl2wXYI1EC

A few other aspects of the old version have been totally removed, for now. TweetDeck Teams has been scrapped in the updated version, and we can imagine the impact it will have on some business users. While other smaller functional changes in the new version will make it a little harder to use (or we can say different), and users will take their sweet time getting used to it.
The platform is still working on making improvements to the Teams feature and we are looking forward to some more information about those updates to keep you posted about what’s coming next.
How to use TweetDeck 2.0?
Twitter has just launched a new and improved version of TweetDeck, calling it TweetDeck 2.0. With new features being added and some old features scrapped, users are excited and confused about how to optimize their Twitter accounts using the new version.
Here are a few tips on how to get started and efficiently use the new deck:
- All users can now continue to access their saved searches & workflows via https://tweetdeck.twitter.com by selecting “Try the new TweetDeck” in the bottom left menu.
- All your saved searches, lists, and columns will carry over to the new version. You’ll be prompted to import your columns when you load the application for the first time.
- The new version now supports full composer functionality, Spaces, video docking, polls, and more.
- Teams functionality in the new version is temporarily unavailable and will be restored in the coming weeks.
- In 30 days, users must be Verified to access TweetDeck.
Twitter has been working on data security and analytics for so long, and a beta version of its new Analytics page shows that the platform is serious about everything it claims to be doing. Twitter has launched a beta version of its new analytics page as you can see below:
Way to go for the platform, but if Twitter incorporates more functional value into the app, which it is expected to still do in future updates (in coming months), apparently that move could transform it into an essential and ‘must-have’ tool for social media managers.
