The on-ground event of the region’s leading games conference took place in Dubai in June at Warehouse Four.
The Digital Games Conference was finally back to an in-person event this June! The event hosted 14 sessions with 35 speakers, as well as a Forza Horizon 5 gaming challenge sponsored by Microsoft, offering a chance to win a new generation Xbox console.
An exciting lineup of speakers from gaming publishers such as Riot Games, to non-endemic brands such as Tik Tok, was headlined by games industry veteran Peter Molyneux OBE – creator of the Fable and Theme Park franchises. Molyneux spoke about what inspired him to create the iconic games he is known for and shared insights into the game development process.
The Digital Games Conference also highlighted the achievements of the region’s thriving Esports scene and challenges in indie game development among other trending topics related to the fast-growing gaming industry.
Keynote speaker, Saeed Alnofeli, Director of in5, addressed how they are planning to further support the region’s gaming ecosystem: “[in5] has the necessary infrastructure to help global and regional game developers with a seamless set-up so they can collaborate and thrive, enabling our start-ups to engage and converge their insights, resources, and skills, which is necessary for a robust gaming environment. By supporting gaming events such as the Digital Games Conference MEA, we aim to continue nurturing this industry and attracting major players and creative talent to develop content that speaks directly to MENA’s diverse market.”
The next edition of the Digital Games Conference will be held in KSA at the end of 2022. For more information please contact: chris.creegan@itp.com, 04 444 3541
