Twitter’s current character length limit does restrict the amount you can express in just one tweet.
It seems like the platform has taken into account the many complaints over the years and have launched a new feature, Twitter Notes!
Twitter Notes 101
The Notes experience is quite straightforward to use, including most of the standard elements of a blog post format.
For example, the ability to insert header images, text images and links, as well as, a refined option to include tweets.
Some good information to note:
Headlines are limited to 100 characters and the main body can be up to 2,500 words.
Even better news… you can edit your Notes after they have been published! (time to get that implemented into normal Tweets please @Twitter).
Notes will appear as a Twitter card once published, connecting users to the full article.
An example can be seen above, by social media expert, Matt Navarra.
However, Twitter currently states that Notes will not receive an algorithmic push and will not be prioritized over regular tweets.
So although at this stage, the feature won’t necassarily prompt your Note article to trend on the app, it does provide an excellent avenue to promotion and a new digital experience on the platform.
Currently, Notes are available to selected users but are expected to be launched officially to all account holders very soon.
