Who are the highest-paid YouTubers of 2022?

These numbers are crazy!

YouTube

Interested to know if your favourite YouTuber is on the list of the highest-paid YouTubers in the world?

Firstly, let’s talk about the slow (or fast) creeping power of YouTube becoming our modern-day television shows to watch. If you think YouTube is just for looking up how to do something or learning a new skill then you, my friend, are wrong.

Only recently, I have discovered YouTube to be so much more than just trying to learn something but also how entertaining it is! Joe Hattab especially is one of my favourite Arab YouTubers who I have found to be very edutaining. His story-telling abilities of every country and indigenous place he visits captivate the audience. Not only is it the way he records his videos in a cinematic way, but the content is so engaging that you learn something from each and every video.

If you have a favourite topic that you enjoy or favourite celebrity if not YouTuber, then type the word or name in the search bar and see what appears. You may find an interview to watch that is the most engaging watch you have ever seen.

The list below is taken from the Forbes 2022 article on the highest-paid YouTubers which we have broken down to discuss why they are in the top 10.

1. MrBeast

Is it any surprise that MrBeast is first? He makes $54 Million with nearly 100 million subscribers on YouTube. He must be doing something right? Well, it’s the opposite, he does so many things wrong and unimaginable that it makes us want to keep watching! Therefore, does he captivate his audience? The answer is yes.

In one of his recent videos, MrBeast captions it ‘Would You Swim With Sharks For $100,000?’ Who wouldn’t watch a video with that title! You, as the viewer, know exactly what is going to happen and because of the clickbait title and entertaining video, he received 66 million views with the video still generating 9.7k views per hour. He wouldn’t be a businessman without having extra streams of revenue and therefore he has his own MrBeast Burger app, allowing fans to order branded meals from 1,600 restaurants. According to Forbes, he has sold 5 million sandwiches so far from the business, splitting profits with the restaurants.

2. Jake Paul

From making $21.5 million back in 2018 to now generating a whopping $45 million dollars, Jake Paul comes second on the list of highest-paid YouTube influencers. This number could have been potentially more if his brother Logan Paul didn’t post a video online in 2017 of him filming in a Japanese forest known as a suicide spot. The video received a huge backlash and therefore damaged both the brother’s reputations with fans, sponsors, and media.

Jake Paul does focus a lot on his boxing career and makes money from his merchandise, and YouTube ads again. Although he doesn’t post as regularly as before, his channel still generates millions of views with 20.4 million subscribers.

3. Markiplier

A YouTuber who does it all, Markiplier is in 3rd place making $38 million from his Unus Annus series and making sales from his t-shirt, hoodies, and other items. The series is in collaboration with other YouTubers including Ethan Nestor-Darling and now he has his own YouTube originals show called In space with Markiplier. When I say that he does it all, I mean he has in his About description that he has over 5000 videos, so I’m sure there’s something you’d like. From reaction videos to comedy sketches, reviews and challenges, Markiplier has 33.1 million subscribers on his channel with the number growing by the day.

4. Rhett and Link

Rhett and Link are two YouTubers who make $30 million from their content. You may not of heard of their name, but you would be familiar with their show Good Mythical Morning with 17.6 million subscribers. Every Monday -Friday they post a video on eating truly unbelievable things, explore surprising new products and trends, compete in original games with celebrity guests, implement serious experiments in hilarious ways, and more. On their About page, they also have a link to again, the official merchandise they sell.

You can buy GMM and Mythical merchandise from the Amazon link and this way support the content and content creating influencers that you watch. A great thing about these Rhett and Link is their Mythical Accelerator fund through which they intend to invest $5 million into other YouTubers.

It’s always great to see successful YouTubers spreading their success with other aspiring YouTubers as a support system and strong network.

5. Unspeakable

Halfway through the list and Unspeakable is there at number 5, making $28.5 million. Unspeakable has a lot of “I survived” videos which already puts us on edge for what we’re about to click on and watch. Just 11 days ago, he posted a video titled Spending 100 Hours In Go Karts and that generated 5.7 million views. Another video that you would think is disgusting to watch yet you would be intrigued to find out more about is him spending one night in the Worlds Biggest Toilet.

He made it to the Forbes list by selling off his catalog of YouTube videos to Spotter which is now one of the largest independent owners of YouTube content.

6. Nastya

At the age of 7, do you ever think you could have or would have made $28 million? That’s the power of social media right there. Little Nastya immigrated from Russia with her parents and has 97 million subscribers on her channel which was made back in 2016. Her channel named Like Nastya, shows various videos of them singing, dancing, and sharing life experiences with Nastya as the main protagonist.

They like to promote learning, eating healthy foods, cleaning, and rules to each other children who are watching. Like Nastya also made a similar deal to Spotter last year, selling the monetisation rights to her old YouTube videos in exchange for cash upfront. Not only does she have the money from Spotter, but she (her parents), has also added merchandise and an NFT collection to support raising ongoing income.

7. Ryan Kaji

Another mini star on YouTube is 10-year-old Ryan Kaji. Ryan is estimated to be making $27 million and started at the age of 4. Ryan actually has two channels on YouTube and they both have an incredible number of followers. Kaji Family with 888 videos has 8.59 million subscribers, and Ryan’s World has 32.7 million subscribers.

Again, like other young superstars, the channels are based on Ryan’s world, fun experiences, pretend play, and other fun activities that young 10-year-olds like to do. Like all the YouTubers, Ryan has his own merchandise as well as a deal with Target and Walmart where he has sold toys.

8. Dude Perfect

Are you into sports and comedy? The watch Dude Perfect as he has 57.8 million subscribers, and because of his engaging content, makes $20 million. The concept of the channel is 5 friends playing games and basically, being funny! There are challenges, bucket list content, and sports tricks on the channel created by twins Coby and Cory Cotton, Garrett Hilbert, Cody Jones, and Tyler Toney. They’re like the Impractical Jokers of YouTubers.

The group has been touring and will be doing their 3rd live tour this Summer in 24 cities.

9. Logan Paul

A name that you have probably heard a few times on the ITP Live website and YouTube channel. Logan Paul makes less than his brother, but still, an amount that anyone may wish for with $18 million going into his account.

Although he is on the list, it is no surprise that he has been pushed down and that was probably because of the video that we spoke about previously in the Japanese forest. After his exhibition fight with Floyd Mayweather which was probably his biggest fight yet, Logan continues to re-build his online presence and had one of the first celebrity NFT releases with a $5 million sale last February. His podcast is also doing very well with celebrities like the One Direction star Liam Payne which recently caused some controversy online. The podcast however has generated 100 million YouTube views over the past year.

10. Preston Arsement

Last but not least, Preston Arsement comes as number 10 on the official list of highest-paid Youtubers with $16 million going into his account. Preston has 20.4 million subscribers on YouTube and is a 25-year-old video-playing gamer. He likes to interact with his fans and followers having stated on his About page If you’re a fan and wanna talk to me, just hit me up on Twitter! I love engaging with all of my fans!
