Table of Contents
In an effort to help creators maximize engagement, YouTube is developing sorting and categorization tools to help channel visitors find more relevant content and information in-stream.
“For You” Shelf
A new shelf of ‘For you’ recommendations will be offered by YouTube for channel visitors based on their viewing history. As a result, you’ll be able to display content tailored to your channel visitors based on what they are most likely to be interested in.
It will also be possible for channel managers to exclude content types and set parameters around what is displayed. YouTube is also planning to simplify its channel display by hiding tabs where there is no content or the information is in another element. This will declutter the Channel page display and also make room for future additions.
New Display Options
As for Channel display options, YouTube has also previewed upcoming features, including the ability to include links in your header overview, a ‘Courses’ tab for channels with courses enabled, a ‘Releases’ tab for musicians to showcase their latest tracks and albums, and a ‘Releases’ tab for musicians to showcase their latest tracks and albums.
By streamlining the process and simplifying the channel display, these updates could improve discovery and interaction. They may not be game-changers, but they could cumulatively have a significant impact on engagement.
