Rosalia’s Bizcochito song challenge – #rosaliachallenge
Initially released as a compilation of mixed videos by the famous Spanish singer herself on her TikTok account, the video went viral amongst fans and creators around the world. The viral video shows the singer chewing open-mouthed gum in different environments while she looks the camera up and down (think mean-girl type that’s analyzing your outfit). Dubbed by creators as the new #rosaliachallenge, the “Motomami” superstar has been seen mimicked thousands of times across different parts of the world by TikTok creators. Users add their own flare to the challenge by creating content that serves the most “attitude”.

Kala Chashma, a song sung by Amar Arshi, Badshah, and Neha Kakkar, originally became known when it featured in the 2016 romantic Bollywood movie Baar Baar Dekho, starring Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra. Since its release, the song became a regional must-have amongst Indian Weddings. It wasn’t until a group of mixed-multicultural men made the song spread like wildfire Internationally that they choreographed the song by creating their own version of a dance to it; widely known as the Famous Wedding Dance. The original Famous Wedding Dance was uploaded onto social video-oriented platform TikTok and immediately was doped the #kalachashmadance
The dance became a hit amongst users as it features a four-stance, back-breaking if we have to say so, twerk. Seen duplicated and interpreted thousands of times over and over again on TikTok the various variations of the twerk have the region caught in a whirlwind of laughs.

As usual users on TikTok always find new ways to use newly released music to create creative dance challenges. The song Reggae and Calypso released this year by music artists Buni, Russ Millions and YV became an instant hit amongst creators for the song’s odd rhythmic cough beat that transitions into a full-beat rap. The song took off as creatives invented various content pretending to be sick and coughing to suddenly jump into a full-out dance. The creative #dancechallenge creates initial confusion but makes users wait in anticipation for that “wow-factor” transition.
