TikTok influencer Mikayla Nogueira under fire as critics claim she wears false lashes in a L’Oreal mascara review

Mikayla Nogueira is a 24-year-old make-up artist who has used TikTok to showcase her work and has now grown her following to 14.4 million followers and over 1 billion likes altogether. However, this beauty influencer has faced scrutiny over her latest video reviewing a mascara by L’Oreal in a paid partnership.

In the video, Mikayla is seen with her right eyelashes already with mascara on, and her left lashes ready for application. As we can see from the video, Mikayla’s natural lashes are quite light, and thin, but by the end of the video, her lashes are thicker, fuller, and longer. Critics, followers, and those who have come across the video have commented on their concern that the review is fake and that Mikayla is wearing false lashes.

With 47.3 million views on the video, 1.3 million likes, and 72.1K comments, the influencer has not yet uploaded a video explaining herself or answering any of the allegations. However, she did comment back to @maceyfrazzini who said “wait are you not wearing falsies at the end?” replying “Noooo omg loreal would never allow that in a partnered post!!! But ya’ll proving my point.” 

Since then, more comments have flooded on to her page, questioning whether the influencer’s reviews can be trusted or not. Others have created a duet with the video, laughing at how Mikalya is getting away with wearing false lashes for a mascara review.

As this is a paid partnership, we could expect L’Oreal to review the situation by questioning the influencer on the content she posted. Until then millions are waiting for a response or an updated video/live taking showing us the mascara being applied without any editing or cuts.
