Met Gala 2023: Indian Celebrity Alia Bhatt

The Met Gala is always a fashion extravaganza, but when Indian celebrities hit the runway, things get extra spicy! These fashion-forward stars know how to make a statement, whether it’s with vibrant colors, intricate designs, or just a fierce attitude that says, “I am fabulous, darling!”

Who needs a red carpet when you can strut your stuff in a sari? And let’s be real, when it comes to making a statement, nothing beats a sequin sari that screams, “I am Bollywood royalty, hear me roar!” So grab a tea, sit back, and enjoy the show, because when Indian celebs take over the Met, it’s a party you don’t want to miss!

Check out these top 5 Indian divas that made it sizzling hot to the 2023 Met Gala:

Priyanka Chopra Jonas

Priyanka Chopra and her pop star husband Nick Jonas were photographed matching in monochrome. While Jonas was seen sporting a chunky pair of shoes and a black suit from Valentino, Chopra wore a black Maison Valentino outfit which included a strapless all-black dress with a bow and a thigh-high slit.

She was decked up in white leather gloves, a black faille cape with white bows at the sleeves, and Bulgari jewelry.

Alia Bhatt

Who said only diamonds are a girl’s best friend? Alia’s are pearls.

Bollywood’s sweetheart Alia Bhatt made a stunning entrance wearing an ivory ball gown adorned with 100,000 pearls hand beaded in India.

The 30-year-old wore a ball gown with an exaggerated basque waist made of ivory silk tulle, satin face organza, and hand-beaded pearls from the Prabal Gurung studio, which was modeled after Karl Lagerfeld’s 1992 fall/winter bridal design for Chanel.

Her much-anticipated Met Gala debut truly did not disappoint.

Isha Ambani

Isha Ambani, daughter of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, looked like a walking dream in a black saree-turned-gown as she paid homage to her Indian origins. Isha practically sparkled as she walked the carpet in Prabal Gurung‘s black silk saree gown adorned with hundreds of gems and pearls.

She made her first Met Gala appearance in a Christian Dior gown in 2017 and her second in a Prabal Gurung outfit in 2019.

Natasha Poonawalla

This Indian socialite, businesswoman, and chairperson of the Villo Poonawalla Foundation has never shied away or hesitated to display daring and edgy styles, and this Met Gala was no different!

In a custom-made all-silver Schiaparelli gown with long, pointy edges framing her face, Natasha Poonawala, once more leaned into her love for dramatic aesthetics.

This look was inspired by some looks from Schiaparelli‘s Haute Couture 2023 collection. Poonawalla looked stylish, snazzy, and futuristic as she completed the ensemble with a neat ponytail.

Diva Mehta Jatia

Diva Mehta Jatia attended the Met Gala and also donned a Prabal Gurung outfit. She wore a dress with a black bodice and an emerald green skirt that billowed, along with Ashoka by William Goldberg earrings. Bowing to her Indian heritage, she wore her middle-parted hair pulled back in a single braid and accessorized with a stunning headpiece in the shape of an embellished temple.

As the 2023 Met Gala came to a close, it was clear that Indian fashion had stolen the show. From the stunning saris to the intricate embellishments, Indian designers proved once again that their creations are among the most breathtaking. The dazzling display of creativity and culture has left us all in awe, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for Indian fashion on a global scale!
