Popular footballer and influencer Neymar da Silva Santos Junior, better known as Neymar, was fined a hefty $3.5 million for an environmental offense.
Brazilian authorities said on Monday the 3rd of July that Neymar breached environmental rules during the construction of his coastal mansion in southeastern Brazil. The project that was underway violated rules because of the use and movement of freshwater sources, rock, and sand.
The luxury build was happening in the town of Mangaratiba, located on the southern coast of Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro state.
Baby On The Way
Just recently, Neymar announced that he will be having a baby girl with his girlfriend Bruna and that he “can’t wait” to meet her.
Neymar’s fine occurred from “the construction of an artificial lake at the mansion,” and therefore environmental infractions were made. As well as the fine, the local attorney’s general office, the state civil police, and the environmental protection office among others, will probe the case to be taken further.
