Threads to release web version soon

Threads, Meta’s competitor to X, is to launch early next week, reports The Wall Street Journal. CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, recently reported on the Threads application that a web version and a search feature would be rolling out soon.

As of right now, users can only search for accounts on the application and not for specific keywords. The web version is also nonexistent at the moment, but it has been reported that it will be ready for everyone next week. Most recently, there was the addition of a “following” feed and sharing of threads on Instagram DMs, which improved the application’s functionality.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri also confirmed that the web version of the application is being tested internally and needs to be tweaked before being released to the public.

While the application’s initial launch proved to be successful, having hit over 100 million sign-ups in less than three days, the app has slowed in growth since then. Several crucial features are being added slowly to improve functionality, which Zuckerberg believes will help the trajectory of the application to soar.
