Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner “amicably end” marriage
Singer Joe Jonas and actor Sophie Turner announced their split in joint statements on Wednesday, following a long weekend of rumors that Jonas had filed for divorce.
The statement reads “After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why but, truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children.”
Why is the couple getting a divorce?
Jonas’ divorce petition states that the marriage was “irretrievably broken” and that it would be in the best interest of their children if he and Turner “have shared parental responsibility.” He also asked the court to uphold the couple’s prenuptial agreement.

It was reported that the couple has been having issues for the past 6 months. From their 4 years of marriage together, the couple have two daughters. TMZ reports that Joe currently has both kids, as his group the Jonas Brothers play their U.S. dates and is scheduled to perform through the winter.
Turner is currently in the U.K., where she has been glimpsed on set for her latest project, the ITV drama ‘Joan’. It is Turner’s first main role since her ‘Game of Thrones’ days, after doing very little TV and movies in recent years.
Fans were taken aback by the reports because the couple appeared to be doing well based on recent public appearances and social media posts. Just last month, Turner supported Jonas at the opening of the Jonas Brothers’ tour at Yankee Stadium. Jonas has also appeared still wearing his wedding ring at various shows and social media posts.
The couple has always remained very private about their relationship, so there is not a lot of public information about what is going on behind closed doors.Â
