Next 3-day weekend for UAE residents
The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced that Friday, September 29, 2023, will be a public holiday to mark the birthday of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him).
”Based on the decision of the Council of Ministers regarding the approved official holiday agenda for the government and private sectors in the country for the year 2023, it has been decided that the Prophet’s Birthday holiday will be on Friday, September 29, 2023,” the memo said.
In accordance with Islamic tradition, Muslims worldwide recognise the 12th day of the Islamic month of Rabi Al Awwal as Milad un Nabi (Mawlid), a momentous occasion commemorating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
A circular issued by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources added that work will resume on October 2, Monday.

This means the next three-day weekend is only a week away. However, by no means is it the last public holiday of the year, since Commemoration Day will be marked on Friday, December 1.
If you’re anything like us, you’ll be looking ahead to the UAE public holidays in 2024.
