Facebook Has Lost Its Cool Factor

Parents, do you keep tabs on your teenage son or daughter’s Facebook account?

If you answered yes, you might be wasting your time.

A recent study from the Pew Research Center shows that teenagers are more likely to be active on YouTube, Instagram and Snapchat than Facebook.

In the past few years, there’s been a huge drop in the number of teens active on the social networking platform.

According to The Guardian 51% of US individuals between the ages of 13 and 17 say they use Facebook on a regular basis.

This is a big drop in numbers compared to the 71% of teens who said they used the social network back in 2015, when it was the dominant social media platform. The study also shows that girls were most active on Snapchat, while teenage boys preferred YouTube.

Hmm. Interesting.

Considering Facebook owns Instagram, the most popular photo- and story-sharing platforms on the market, it isn’t as if the networking giant is taking any major hits.

And despite the drop in teen users, we doubt millenials and baby boomers will give it up any time soon.

Are you between the ages of 13 and 17? Have you stopped using Facebook? Let us know in the comments below.
