It’s Official: Instagram’s Most Liked Post is An Egg

Game over Kylie Jenner. 

A photo of an egg is officially the most liked photo on Instagram. Ever. 

The picture of a (presumed) boiled egg was uploaded to the account @world_record_egg on Jan. 4 with the sole purpose of trying to become the most liked photo on Instagram.

According to The Verge “the egg post officially passed Jenner’s 18 million likes on Sunday evening and currently has just over 24.5 million likes.” 

Make that over 37.8 million. And counting.

As of Monday, Jan. 14 the account has been verified on Instagram and has announced it will soon launch a line of merchandise.

How did Kylie Jenner respond?

Naturally, she didn’t take it too well…

Whether or not “Egg Gang”, the account’s owner(s), were trying to egg on Jenner still remains uncertain; but it’s clear they were vying for the titled of Most Liked Photo on Instagram in 2019.

Almost a year ago Kylie posted a photo of her newborn daughter, Stormi Webster, holding her thumb to her Instagram account.

The photo of Stormi Webster was the most liked photo on Instagram until Egg Gang came along with their cracking photo of an egg.
