Instagram and Netflix team up on a new self-care series for millenial viewers

Instagram and Netflix have joined forces to tackle the subjects of self-care and mental health amidst a global pandemic through a new series which will feature mental health experts in conversation with well-known young-adult actors and actresses.

According to Social Media Today, “The partnership makes a lot of sense – 65% of Instagram’s audience is under 34 years of age, while Netflix is the most popular video channel among teen users, even beating out YouTube in a recent study conducted.”

The lack of social contact during the COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly impacted almost every person on earth. Young adults, however, are at a stage where they’re learning who they are, and the social connections and experiences that they have are a big part of that. And while they can replicate some level of connection via video apps, it’s not the same.

This partnership aims at igniting the conversation regarding the mental health impacts of the pandemic and addressing them head on by using familiar and relatable faces.

Series stars include:

Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Joey King (The Kissing Booth), Ross Butler (13 Reasons Why), Caleb McLaughlin (Stranger Things), Lana Condor (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), Jerry Harris (Cheer), and Alisha Boe (13 Reasons Why)

“Wanna Talk About It?” is available via the Netflix Global Instagram account and will run every Thursday through May 14th
