Aaliyah Kashyap’s earnings from social media
Aaliyah Kashyap, daughter of renowned Indian filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, has been an Influencer for a few years now. She usually hosts Q&A sessions and makes vlogs for her YouTube channel, which boasts over 150 thousand subscribers.
In her most recent question-and-answer video, titled “answering questions I’ve been avoiding…”, followers asked questions about how she makes a living on social media, and how she goes about managing her lifestyle with the money she makes through these channels.
It’s not unusual for an up-and-coming Influencer to get questions like these, and Aaliyah admits in her video that her DMs often get flooded with such questions. However, she focused on answering only two: ‘How does earning work with social media?’ and, ‘Is social media your only source of income?’
In this case, Aaliyah responded that her major source of income is through brand deals. She estimates that 80% of her income comes from these deals, however, it varies according to the number of deals she receives every month.
Aaliyah also said in her video that she earns additional income through her YouTube channel, but also reminded followers that YouTube does not pay as well in India as it does in the United States. “YouTube does pay me money every month based on how many views I got that month. The money I get from YouTube is nowhere enough to sustain my life,” she said.
Other sources of income
At the moment, Aaliyah Kashyap said that she is only reliant on social media for her income, but added that she would like to start her own business as well. In the video, Aaliyah speaks about the jewelry business, Athena Jewels, which she had to shut down within a few months because of supply issues.
Another update in her life that Aaliyah sheds light on in the YouTube video is her new engagement to longtime boyfriend Shane Gregoire. When asked about when the wedding will happen, Aaliyah Kashyap responded that they are planning to tie the knot in February 2025.
