Christian Atsu found dead in Turkey & Syria earthquake

Ghanaian professional footballer, Christian Atsu’s body has been returned to Ghana after his body was found under the rubble of the Turkey and Syria tragic earthquakes. As the world joined together to help find the innocent people who are trapped, it has been unfortunate that some have passed away in the after minutes, hours, and days.

Christian Atsu was confirmed dead on February 18th as confirmed by his agent online, and remembered for playing in major teams such as Chelsea and Newcastle United. He also completed a four-year contract with Al Read in Saudi Arabia and finally with Hatayspor in Turkey where he tragically passed away.

Atsu was a proud player for his country Ghana having represented them in the 2014 FIFA World Cup and four Africa Cup of Nations Tournaments. The footballer won Player of the Tournament and Goal of the Tournament during these major two games.

As a role model to thousands and a key young celebrity and influencer on social media, Christian Atsu’s fans are heartbroken by the news and have paid their respects to Atsu’s social media profiles. Many people are pleading for him to come back, while others are writing RIP in memory of their favourite player.

Agent confirms the news on Twitter

Atsu’s agent Nana Sechere, confirmed the news to thousands of people saying ‘It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce to all well wishers that sadly Christian Atsu’s body was recovered this morning.’ He continued with, ‘My deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their prayers and support.’

Death tolls in Turkey and Syria have now surpassed 46,000, with many still missing and have not yet been found. Videos of newborn babies have also flooded the internet over the past few days surviving the devastating events that happened – some being reunited with their families and others were taken into care having lost their entire households.
