Release Date
In September 2023, Apple will be holding the Apple iPhone 15 Event. Pre-orders of the latest set of iPhones will thus be available in mid-September, with in-store releases not far behind. Mark Gurman, Chief Correspondent for Bloomberg, who reports on technology, recently tweeted that the Apple event for the iPhone is likely to take place September 12th.
Signs are increasingly pointing to Sept. 12 as the iPhone 15 event date, but obviously things can still theoretically change. https://t.co/hVKgjJGMc1

This means in-store purchases are speculated to be available on September 22nd.
iPhone 15 specs
In September, Apple will continue the iPhone flagship lineup, introducing the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. As with the iPhone 14 Pro models, the higher-end iPhone Pro models for the 15 will have special features not available in other models. One of the special features most likely to be featured in the Pro models is more notably thinner, curved bezels and a new titanium material to replace the stainless steel chassis.
It has also been rumored that Apple is also expected to add a redesigned “mute” button for the pro models. The current mute switch will be replaced by the action button, and it will be able to do more than just mute the iPhone. Rumors suggest that users will be able to set multiple functions, such as turning on the flashlight or activating shortcuts with the help of the action button.
Additionally, in order to comply with the new European Union law which requires all devices to use a universal charging port, Apple will also be introducing the USB-C charging port in the new iPhones.
Other rumors are suggesting that the new devices could also include an enhanced rear-camera LiDAR Scanner from Sony, which promises heightened depth-sensing capabilities.
The A16 processor
Apple users can expect the new iPhones to use the same A16 Bionic as the iPhone 14 Pro. The Pro models, however, are likely to benefit from an all-new A17 chip, continuing the differentiation between Pro and non-Pro models. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also revealed that the regular iPhone models are indeed getting last year’s A16 processor.
