Firstly, Kevin Hart is not vegan if that’s the question you’re asking in your head! However, he calls himself a “flexitarian” as the only meat he eats is chicken.
Kevin’s Hart House which has just opened on Sunset Boulevard in California, is a new drive-thru restaurant serving only vegan food. Forgetting AI technology at the moment, this spectacular idea by comedian and actor Hart is the latest and first of its kind with plans for more openings internationally soon.
The area the chain has opened in is not only the busiest intersection in Hollywood, but it is also taking the spot of a McDonald’s restaurant.
Just in time for the Summer, Hart House has the opportunity for a delicious Summer menu dubbing it “Summer Lovin” and featuring some mouth-watering options. The menu includes three new plant-based items such as a Smokey BBQ Burg’r, Hart House lemonade, and Nashville nuggets.
Kevin Hart said in a statement: “Since the inception of Hart House, it’s always been about creating a new option within fast food which is why I’m so excited to bring Hart House to Hollywood. At Hart House, we are in the business of making people feel good and I’m so proud of how fast we are growing and can’t wait ’til there are Hart House restaurants all across the nation!”
The celebrity also took to Instagram to celebrate the launch, encouraging his 175 million followers to visit the eatery and discover “what all of the food hype is about.”
Inside Hart House, you will find 24 indoor seats and 16 outdoor seats. Kai Williams and Nicollette Santos were chosen to complete the interior design and graphic design detailing. The vegan restaurant not only gives the opportunity for vegans to dine at a new spot but is also a place where new talent can showcase their work, giving women of color a chance to be under the spotlight in a positive way.
Olivia Sawai painted the space with an expansive mural, and she is also known for completing large-scale artwork for Starbucks.
As well as a rainwater retention system that will capture and recycle rainfall, the grounds have been completely designed with sustainable factors in mind including existing palm trees.
“We are on a mission to create a sustainable restaurant brand that is grounded in high-quality jobs and objectively delicious food, with a menu that happens to be made entirely from plants,” Andy Hooper, Hart House CEO, said in a statement. “We believe it’s time to usher in a new era of fast food in Hollywood that matches up against the titans of the industry.”
