About Netflix’s Social Currency
Netflix’s ‘Social Currency’ is directed by Fazila Allana, Kamna Menezes, Sanvari Alagh Nair, Meghana Badola, and Chad Greulach and will stream on the OTT giant Netflix soon. Going by the initial look and trailers of the game series, it can’t be differentiated from Big Boss. The participants will be living together on a luxurious property and will be given tasks related to social media and stardom.
Netflix’s reality show revolves around the lives of eight creators who will leave behind their loaded Instagram and will create separate accounts to gain a new set of followers starting from scratch. They will fight with each other to earn everything again, the fame and their followers, with fresh accounts.
The social media influencers will continue to create content like they were doing previously, engaging with their followers but the only difference would be their leverage for having a large number of followers like before would be gone. In short, there won’t be any soft cushion to rely on and they will have to prove their worth.
Netflix’s game show will test these influencers over a 21-day window, not giving them access to personal smartphones, their verified handles, and their current followers across the world.
