Get your popcorn ready…because Lady Gaga has just signed on to play Harley Quinn in the new sequel for the multi-award winning film Joker.
As per the Hollywood Reporter, Gaga will play Harley Quinn, a former Arkham Asylum psychiatrist who has appeared in Batman-related stories as the Joker’s partner in crime and love interest.
The role has previously been notably played by Margot Robbie, who took on the character in the 2016 film Suicide Squad, as well as its 2021 sequel The Suicide Squad.
However, in a statement given by the Hollywood Reporter, Gaga’s character will “exist in a different DC universe than … Robbie’s Harley Quinn” .

Lady Gaga is no first comer when it comes to acting roles! She wow’d audiences in her role in the musical film A Star Is Born and went on to receieve an Oscar nomination for Best Actress.
Last year, the singer channeled her Italian roots, as she immersed herself to take on the role of Patrizia Reggiani in House Of Gucci.
Her character followed the true story of Patrizia, the infamous, visionary socialite who married fashion industry tycoon Maurizio Gucci in 1972 and was convicted of his murder 25 years later.
Title for sequel revealed…?
Last week, lead Director for the Joker Todd Philipps, shared a photo on Instagram of the Joker: Folie a Deux script cover, confirming that script draft was completed on May 18th.
There is now speculation, that the sequel which is being developed as a musical, will be called Folie a Deux – ‘defined as an identical or similar mental disorder affecting two or more individuals, usually the members of a close family’.
The 2019 film Joker was huge hit at the box office, earning $335.4 million domestically and $1.074 billion worldwide.
