Our beloved go-to platform to gather all our creative ideas, mood boards, and aesthetic inspiration just got a whole lot better as Pinterest just launched a new way to promote video content through its first test bunny experiment with The Louvre in Paris.
Think about it, before we travel, take style photos, or brainstorm any ideas that will result in visual content for social media platforms, we head to Pinterest before executing the final result. Especially when you travel to a picturesque destination like Paris.
Pinterest officially announced a new activation, in partnership with The Louvre that will enable users to experience the historic art gallery through video elements within the app.
As already posted on The Louvre’s profile on Pinterest, the video series will take users behind the scenes and away from the crowded corridors of tourists to showcase unseen elements of the impeccable Palais and the architectural wonders it has to offer, all while experimenting to find new approaches on the app to increase engagement opportunities.
As explained by Pinterest:
“Through a series of original videos, ”A look at the Louvre,” shares the museum’s masterpieces and architecture at the crossroads of centuries. The content features off-the-beaten-path tours to discover both its collections and the museum’s courtyards and staircases, as well as unusual places. The videos invite viewers to admire details within the museum, such as beautifully crafted ceilings and views from the windows.”
The new initiative is designed to expand Pinterest’s original programming, and make it more of a destination for entertainment, along with shopping – though shopping remains the app’s key focus, with Pinterest noting that it’s also looking to boost its live-streaming credentials.
“The goal is to develop an ecosystem of creators, enrich content production and accelerate live streaming on Pinterest. In the coming months, more original programs will be introduced across Pinterest’s core categories such as cooking, travel, decoration, and much more.”
As we wait in anticipation to see the return of Pinterest’s dominance within our visual content-driven society, for now, we are enjoying this new partnership with The Louvre and playing art tourists through the screens of our phones!
